Subscriptions for the autumn term are due from the beginning of September. The level has been maintained at £30 for this year.

Hog Roast 2023

Thanks to all those who attended our stormy hog roast event this year. Depsite the stormy and sometimes damp weather we raised over £500 for Group funds.

AGM

An important meeting in the Group calendar is the AGM. It is the chance for the Group to demonstrate that we are functioning correctly and for members to quiz the Trustee Board members.

It is a fun evening with as many of our young people demonstrating the things they have done over the past year.

Note from the GSL

Since our last AGM (Fri 3rd February 2023) the Group has been continue working towards giving the youngsters even more variety of skills, to ensure that when they undertake activities that they find it exciting, fun and most of all SAFE.

Indoor Activity: Badge work, starting new skills, Craft work.

Outside Activities: District Camp, Scout Camps, Hikes, Kayaking / Canoeing, craft skills, visits.

Helping our Sections achieve Bronze, Silver, Gold Awards heading Explorers and young Leaders..

Horse Race Night

Many thanks to all those who attended our Horse Racing nIght on 26th March. We raised over £440 for Group Funds. A great result and a good evening for all those who attended.

Also many thanks to our supporters who donated prizes for the races. These include:

Subscriptions 2023/2024

The Group budget for the coming financial year has been agreed and this includes setting the level for subscriptions. We have managed to keep subscriptions for each member at £30 per term.  Subscriptions are due at the start of each term, on the following dates:

17th April

4th September

2nd January

Horse Race Night

A quick reminder that the next fundraising event is our popular Horse Race Night, 25th March 23. Doors open at 7.00pm.

No horse racing knowledge required. Fun for all the family.

AGM

Many thanks for all the Parents and youngsters who came to the AGM on the 3rd February. It was great to see so many there and everybody enjoying the contributions of the sections as well as the hot dogs.

It was the last AGM of our long-standing Chairman John Elton. John has been supporting the Group for many years and it will be difficult to replace him.

Scouts Expedition – October 2022

Congratulations to the Scouts who completed the Expedition part of their Chief Scouts Award with a hike over 15th and 16th October.
